WHAT IS THE TURTLE LAKE
CHILDREN'S BUSINESS FAIR?

This is a SUPER opportunity for our youth to share their entrepreneurial spirit!
The Turtle Lake Children's Business Fair will allow young Kidpreneurs the opportunity to sell their products, inform the community about their business while having fun connecting with other children just like them!

The event boosts confidence, teaches them valuable lessons, and gives them an experience they will never forget.
They will launch their very own startup business! Each child will develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at this one-day marketplace.

This event is sponsored by Acton Academy, the Acton School of Business, Turtle Lake Community Education, Turtle Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the generous support of local businesses and volunteers. We all believe that principled entrepreneurs are heroes and role models for the next generation.
Whether an entrepreneur is famous like Elon Musk or Oprah Winfrey or they are one of the thousands of unsung business owners across this country, these are the people who make sacrifices to innovate, create jobs and serve their communities.
Be sure to email with your questions! See you at the Fair! Email: childrensfairturtlelake@gmail.com

FOR 2023 - THE FAIR WILL BE:
DATE: Saturday, June 3, 2023
TIME: 10am to 2pm.
LOCATION: Ritsche Pavillion at the Turtle Lake Village Park, Turtle Lake, WI

WHAT DO WE DO TO GET STARTED?
1 - Your child needs to think of what they want to MAKE, CREATE, BUILD and then SELL. They can sell any item or product that they have made from scratch or altered to become an entirely different product. For example, you cannot buy bottles of water and resell bottles of water. But, you can make water bottle holders or decorations for a water bottle and sell those with a bottle of water.

Your child can also sell a service - such as babysitting services, lawn mowing services, etc. Of course, service business such as this will require help from parents and will continue long after the fair is over.

2 - Now it's time to figure out just how much money will be needed to start making the items. Where will that start up money come from?
3 - Determine how many items to have as inventory for the fair. Questions to ask: Do you want all one size, color, shape? Do you want to sell items together as a package or single? Do you want your customers to learn something (sell something as a kit)? Etc...

4 - After you gather the materials, create your items! Determine what works and what doesn't and alter the items as you go for a fantastic final product. THINK OF A BUSINESS NAME!

5 - Meanwhile - Register for the Fair! (he booth fee is $25 and those funds are used directly for marketing/advertising/signage/organizational materials/prizes/table and chair rental.
After clicking on the registration tab, you will be prompted to complete questions regarding the Kidpreneur's business (name, type, what you are selling, pricing and marketing information). You will be directed to a link for PayPal where you will submit your $25 booth fee.

6 - Watch for updates on the Turtle Lake Children's Fair Facebook page as well as emails from Jennifer. ASK Questions! Download the helpful items from this site and VISIT the links with your child!

7 - DON'T FORGET! Plan HOW your business will represent itself at the fair.... what will your display look like? How will you budget for your display? AND.... ADVERTISE YOUR ITEMS TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS! Create a Facebook page or create your own website!
